Changes for NWLAPA

Posted 3 months ago by Rebecca Clawson

Happy New Year and welcome to 2019!  This year brings major changes to NWLAPA.  The organization will now be considered a branch of our state organization, LAPA.  This means that NWLAPA will no longer be collecting member dues.  If you are a member of LAPA, you are automatically a member of NWLAPA.  If you are not a memebr of LAPA, you are not a member of NWLAPA.  Easy peasy!

The Shreveport region will continue to have a regional ambassador to LAPA.  This ambassador will be happy to keep you connected to LAPA and will begin planning events for the region: dinners, CME, socials, etc.  I am happy to announce that Megan Colvin is our new regional ambassador and will soon take over the Shreveport Region section of the website.  If you know of any reps who would like to host a dinner or any ideas for other PA gatherings, please reach out to Megan.

The LAPA and Shreveport Region homepages will become the primary method of communication and announcements for the Shreveport Region from this point on.  I know that we have been using Facebook a lot, and that will most likely continue.  However, all official communications will be sent through the webpage, including events, RSVPs, job postings, etc.

We are excited to continue the strong tradition of NWLAPA!  (As it turns out, no other region had an organization like ours.)  We also look forward to working more closely with our state organization and bridging the gap between local PAs and state-level decisions and policies.  LAPA is striving to keep membership up and to keep LA PAs informed of what is happening at the state and national level.  This is a two-way street!  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach our to the LAPA Board or your Regional Ambassador.  This is why we are here!  Wishing you and your family the happiest of New Years!
